Welcome...

Whoever you are and wherever you are on this beautiful ball we call ‘Earth' I want to connect with you and let you know that you matter to God and to me.

There is a war raging in the unseen realm for your soul - a war between the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness, between good and evil, between truth and error and between life and death.

In Luke 10:29 a lawyer asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbour?" In response, Jesus tells of a priest and a Levite, who seeing a man robbed and injured by thieves and left to die on the side of a road, passed him by. In contrast, a Samaritan, showed compassion and not only stopped to help him but took him to an inn to be cared for. A neighbour, according to Jesus, is one who shows mercy on those in need and does not pass them by.

More than a decade ago God inspired me to write ‘Dear Neighbour' letters. My prayer is that my words will bring hope and healing to all but especially to those who find themselves in spiritual need alongside the road of life. God has been so good to me and it is my privilege to direct your thoughts to Jesus, the lover of your soul.

You are my neighbour and I will not pass you by.

DEAR NEIGHBOUR LETTERS

The Power of Words

Dear Neighbour,

How casually we use words today!  Words are like seeds.  Consider for a moment how many seeds you have scattered and sown today? Remember, once they leave your mouth they are irretrievable.
By speaking words aloud, they are planted in our subconscious minds and they take on a life of their own…they take root, they grow and produce fruit of some kind.

Dear Neighbour,

Today I want to tell you about a beautiful, silver-plated word that hangs on the knob of a cupboard in my office.  Last Christmas I walked into a shop and immediately this ornament caught my eye.  On rows of burgundy ribbons hung the words: Peace, Love and Joy, but the word that caught my attention was: HOPE. I bought it and came home delighted with my purchase.

Dear Neighbour,

Life is an adventure and part of the thrill of an adventure is that we never know what may happen next.  It’s the element of surprise and of the unknown that makes for an adventure.  I still have a bookshelf full of childhood adventure stories and don’t seem to be able to part with them.  It must be the child in me.

Who is my Neighbour?

Dear Neighbour,

As I stood at my kitchen sink, with bubbles up to my elbows, bemoaning the fact that my dishwasher was broken, God spoke to me in the quietness of my heart. The word ‘neighbours’ popped into my head and straight away my mind went to the Parable of the Good Samaritan as told by Jesus in Luke 10: 25-37.  I finished the dishes and felt compelled to read it again even though I was familiar with the passage of scripture.

Light Surrounds your Shadow

Dear Neighbour,

The Winter Solstice has recently brought us the shortest day and the longest night of the year in the Southern Hemisphere and vice versa for the Northern Hemisphere.  This morning my husband and I had to switch the diningroom light on to see our breakfast – it was dark, cold and it had been raining all night.  As I ate my cereal I thought about the heaviness and grayness of the day.  The thick cloud cover successfully hid the lovely winter sunshine that usually streams through our north-facing windows.  At that moment a beautiful thought came into my mind:
