Whoever you are and wherever you are on this beautiful ball we call ‘Earth' I want to connect with you and let you know that you matter to God and to me.

There is a war raging in the unseen realm for your soul - a war between the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness, between good and evil, between truth and error and between life and death.

In Luke 10:29 a lawyer asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbour?" In response, Jesus tells of a priest and a Levite, who seeing a man robbed and injured by thieves and left to die on the side of a road, passed him by. In contrast, a Samaritan, showed compassion and not only stopped to help him but took him to an inn to be cared for. A neighbour, according to Jesus, is one who shows mercy on those in need and does not pass them by.

More than a decade ago God inspired me to write ‘Dear Neighbour' letters. My prayer is that my words will bring hope and healing to all but especially to those who find themselves in spiritual need alongside the road of life. God has been so good to me and it is my privilege to direct your thoughts to Jesus, the lover of your soul.

You are my neighbour and I will not pass you by.

Your God-given Opportunity

Dear Neighbour,

As last year came to a close, we experienced the loss of Madiba, and together with the world we faced the sad reality of the death of a loved one. I was reminded of Alexander the Great’s unusual last three requests before he died: for the best doctors to carry his coffin, for the wealth he had accumulated to be scattered along the procession to the cemetery, and for his hands to hang outside the coffin. He wanted the people to know that in the face of death not even the best doctors in the world have the power to heal; that material wealth remains on earth; and we leave this world empty-handed. The shocking news of 44-year-old Michael Schumacher’s skiing accident reminded us how life can change in a moment of time – even for those in the prime of their life. We should not allow these sobering moments to pass without reflection...

shedding of blood for forgiveness

Dear Neighbour,

The 21st September 2013 is a day the whole world will remember with great sadness. Terrorists converged on the Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi, Kenya with the cold-blooded intention of murdering innocent people and spreading fear to onlookers. Families, young couples planning on marriage, and children taking part in a cooking competition, became their victims. The world watched in horror as the four-day siege progressed, knowing that it could be happening to them at their local shopping mall. It was a reminder of the 9/11 attack on Americans and how it impacted the world. At times like this, the world becomes a global village and those suffering become our brothers and sisters, fellow human beings, people just like us. However, in the midst of this tragedy God revealed the hope of mankind to me…

Dear Neighbour,

We are visual people living in a visual world. Wherever we look messages are being sent from our televisions, newspapers and computers. Consequently, many of us have great difficulty focussing on the unseen realm. Maybe you are wondering what (if anything), is happening behind-the-scenes, in the spiritual realm? I have good news for you…

The Ageing Process

Dear Neighbour,

I recently received an email about the process of ageing that made me laugh. It was a reminder of how children under the age of 10 think about their age in fractions, “I’m four and a half!”, teens are so excited about the whole process they proudly announce “I’m going to be 16 soon!”...
