Welcome...

Whoever you are and wherever you are on this beautiful ball we call ‘Earth' I want to connect with you and let you know that you matter to God and to me.

There is a war raging in the unseen realm for your soul - a war between the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness, between good and evil, between truth and error and between life and death.

In Luke 10:29 a lawyer asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbour?" In response, Jesus tells of a priest and a Levite, who seeing a man robbed and injured by thieves and left to die on the side of a road, passed him by. In contrast, a Samaritan, showed compassion and not only stopped to help him but took him to an inn to be cared for. A neighbour, according to Jesus, is one who shows mercy on those in need and does not pass them by.

More than a decade ago God inspired me to write ‘Dear Neighbour' letters. My prayer is that my words will bring hope and healing to all but especially to those who find themselves in spiritual need alongside the road of life. God has been so good to me and it is my privilege to direct your thoughts to Jesus, the lover of your soul.

You are my neighbour and I will not pass you by.

The Ageing Process

Dear Neighbour,

I recently received an email about the process of ageing that made me laugh. It was a reminder of how children under the age of 10 think about their age in fractions, “I’m four and a half!”, teens are so excited about the whole process they proudly announce “I’m going to be 16 soon!”...

Dear Neighbour,

If your home was filled with smoke and I shouted ‘Fire!” I think you would be grateful for my warning. In a spiritual sense, I am writing this letter to alert you to impending danger. Be assured that I have your best interests at heart...

Know your Enemy, Know your Friend

Dear Neighbour,

Not only are there wars on every continent, but there are wars raging closer to home, in our society and in our families – the war of SUBSTANCE ABUSE. In warfare, it is vital to know your enemy from your friend.  When World War 1 broke out, the War Ministry in London dispatched a coded message to one of the British outposts in the inaccessible areas of Africa. The message read: “War declared. Arrest all enemy aliens in your district.” The War Ministry received this prompt reply: “Have arrested ten Germans, six Belgians, four Frenchman, two Italians, three Austrians, and an American. Please advise immediately who we’re at war with.”

Love Is An Action

Dear Neighbour,

During my studies of the Book of Acts, it came to my attention that the words ‘love, loved, loving’ do not appear anywhere in the twenty eight chapters. This puzzled me. I asked God to explain why these words were so conspicuous by their absence in a book that records the birth of the Christian church and the spreading of the gospel from Jerusalem to Rome. God’s answer both surprised and challenged me.

Dear Neighbour,

My life has been changed forever by e-books! My favourite South African website is Kobo Books. The books are very reasonable and paying in local currency is a bonus. My latest purchase is Max Lucado’s, ‘When God’s story becomes your story’. It is on my Top Ten list. Max is a wonderful Christian author and I hope to inspire you with some wonderful quotations from his book.
