Dear Neighbour,

At the end of the day we all want to know what happens to us when we die.  To non-Christians it is a mystery but to Christians we have one who has gone before us, Jesus Christ…

All other religious leaders have ended their lives in the grave.  ONLY JESUS CHRIST ROSE FROM THE DEAD. It is logical that we can only progress as far as the one we are following.  Who are you following? It is not sufficient for a leader to only give you hope for this life.  Hope must extend beyond the grave.

If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. (1 Corinthians 15:19 NKJV)  If all we get out of Christ is a little inspiration for a few short years, we're a pretty sorry lot. (1 Corinthians 15:19 Message)

“Christianity begins where religion ends…with the resurrection.” (Herbert Booth Smith)

Religion cannot take you further than the grave but Jesus Christ has conquered the grave and He is your guarantee of eternal life.

Jesus said,

"I am the resurrection and the life.

He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.

Do you believe this?"

(John 11:25.26)

That is the GOOD NEWS OF EASTER SUNDAY – JESUS IS NO LONGER DEAD BUT ALIVE!

But the truth is that Christ has been raised up, the first in a long legacy of those who are going to leave the cemeteries. There is a nice symmetry in this: Death initially came by a man, and resurrection from death came by a man. Everybody dies in Adam; everybody comes alive in Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:20-22 Message)

Believers around the world have reason to rejoice today because the empty tomb is our guarantee of eternal life.  Good Friday with all the pain and suffering life on earth can bring will always be eclipsed by the glory of Easter Sunday.  For Christians the Easter weekend is a poignant reminder that our best is yet to come!  We can endure the pain of Friday if we know the glory of Sunday is on the horizon.

The evidence of THE EMPTY TOMB and THE RISEN CHRIST are before us today.

“The tomb of Christ is famous because of what IT DOES NOT CONTAIN.” (Sam Morris)

“The stone was rolled away from the door, not to permit Christ to come out, but to enable the disciples to go in.” (Peter Marshall)

Have you decided to follow Jesus Christ?  You can confidently follow the One who has the power to give you a resurrection body! Jesus invites you to come to Him today trusting that He alone has conquered sin, death and the grave.  In Christ, you have the real promise of a resurrection body:

WHAT DOES A RESURRECTION BODY LOOK LIKE?

(taken from The Message version of the Bible)

What does this 'resurrection body' look like?" If you look at this question closely, you realize how absurd it is. There are no diagrams for this kind of thing. We do have a parallel experience in gardening. You plant a "dead" seed; soon there is a flourishing plant. There is no visual likeness between seed and plant. You could never guess what a tomato would look like by looking at a tomato seed. What we plant in the soil and what grows out of it don't look anything alike. The dead body that we bury in the ground and the resurrection body that comes from it will be dramatically different……. The corpse that's planted is no beauty, but when it's raised, it's glorious. Put in the ground weak, it comes up powerful. The seed sown is natural; the seed grown is supernatural--same seed, same body, but what a difference from when it goes down in physical mortality to when it is raised up in spiritual immortality! (1 Corinthians 15:35-38 and 43,44 Message)

You are only ready to die when you have the promise in your heart from Jesus that your NATURAL BODY contains the SUPERNATURAL LIFE-GIVING POWER OF JESUS CHRIST.  It means that when your heart flatlines, your eternal spirit will not miss a beat and like Jesus, you will go on to glory!

Easter Blessings! x Libby
